Description

NGC 6946, also known as the, “Fireworks Galaxy”, is a face-on galaxy located on the borders of the constellations Cepheus and Cygnus. It was discovered by William Herschel in September 1798 and is estimated 22.5 million light-years distance from Earth, with a spatial diameter of 75,000 light-years.

NGC 6939 is located on the mentioned constellations boundary line as well. It’s an open star cluster 4,000 light-years distant, estimated over a billion years old.
